Getting Started with Infrared Photography

This free live webinar introduces photographers to infrared photography in a way that feels approachable, inspiring, and attainable.

The goal is not to teach everything about infrared photography. It is to remove the intimidation factor, spark curiosity, and help attendees realize that getting started can be easier and more fun than they may have assumed.

The webinar also creates a natural bridge into the online Infrared Photography Intensive and the in-field Southern Utah retreat. Together, those experiences offer continued education, support, feedback, and the opportunity to expand their infrared work in the field.

What You'll Learn

  • Infrared photography is approachable. Photographers do not need to be experts or have everything figured out before they begin. The basics can be learned in a clear, manageable way.
  • Infrared photography is creative and fun. It offers a fresh way to see familiar landscapes, encourages experimentation, and opens up new possibilities for personal expression.
  • Getting started is easier with support. Attendees do not have to navigate camera choices, shooting techniques, editing, and creative development alone.
  • There is a clear next step. The online intensive helps photographers continue learning after the webinar, while the Southern Utah retreat gives them the opportunity to expand their work through hands-on practice in the field.

Meet Jeffrey Tadlock

His passion for photography began early, inspired by his father, an avid amateur photographer. After receiving his first camera, a Kodak Pocket Instamatic, he eventually began using his father’s Nikon to photograph BMX and skateboarding events and learn the fundamentals of photography.

For high school graduation, he received a Ricoh KR5 Super II, which accompanied him on travels across the country, capturing everything from the Rocky Mountains to the Grand Canyon. After experimenting with early digital cameras, he stepped away from photography for nearly a decade.

In 2016, picking up his wife’s Nikon D3100 reignited his passion. Since then, he has continued to develop his craft, combining professional portrait and headshot photography with landscape photography as a creative outlet. Today, he is focusing more intentionally on landscape photography and sharing his experiences through YouTube to encourage others to discover the same joy in the craft.
