Mark Gardner

Mark Gardner has been working as a serious amateur since 1991 and a professional since 2006, blending passion, creativity, and technical skill to create fine-art images for personal and client projects. Now stepping back from professional work, he focuses on photography purely as creative expression, celebrating nature, people, and culture. Inspired by the traditions of fine-art photography, he uses both the camera and a digital darkroom to craft imaginative, emotionally driven images in color or black and white. Finished works are printed on archival fine-art papers or optimized for digital publication. He also shares his expertise through workshops, mentoring, and one-on-one coaching. Based in Anacortes, Washington, he travels widely and has published books on the San Juan Islands, co-authored a how-to guide with Art Wolfe, and been featured in LensWork, Elements, Outdoor Photographer, and other outlets.
