You'll be camping in scenic, remote locations as we overland through Southern Utah. Accommodations include comfortable rooftop tents mounted on the Jeeps or ground tents, depending on your preference.

We offer individual or shared sleeping arrangements, and everything is provided — including sleeping pads, bedding, and camp gear. Whether you're traveling solo or with a partner, you'll have a cozy place to rest after a full day of adventure and photography.

• Sturdy tripod and ballhead
• Digital SLR or mirrorless camera body.
• Wide angle lens (16-35mm range), preferably with max aperture of f/2.8 or faster for night photography. 
• Mid Range 24-70mm.
• Telephoto lenses in the 70-200. If you have it, bring a 100-400. If not, that's ok.
• Circular polarizer and ND filters for your lenses. If you like shooting with grads, bring them along.
• Backpack to carry your gear
• Extra batteries, memory cards, and cleaning supplies
• Lightning trigger.
• Laptop if you wish to backup your photos or follow along during the post-processing instruction

• Sturdy hiking footwear, hiking socks, and long pants
• Warm jacket for cool mornings
• Rain gear (jacket), and protection for your camera gear
• Headlamp
• Sunscreen, sunglasses, sun hat
• Water bottles (at least 2L)
• Hiking poles if you like having them
• Bug spray
• Personal Sleeping bag and pillow. If you don't have them we have you covered. 

This trip will have a lot of variation due to the fact that we are chasing thunderstorms. If the clouds don't come, we will transition to photographing the canyons and the stars. If the clouds show up, we will do our best to put ourselves in a spot to catch as much action as we can. This may require some hiking and possibly getting rained on. 

This adventure will begin in St. George Utah. From here we will lock up the Jeep and head towards Escalante. This journey is generally quite fun and can take us through some of the most scenic views within Utah. Upon Arriving in Escalante, we will get any last supplies and check weather before heading into the wilderness. If all things go according to plan we should witness some epic monsoons while out in the desert. 

Sunset- Dance Hall Rock

Sunrise- Dance Hall Rock or surrounding area

Morning- If conditions are clear, we will explore the slot canyons of Escalante. Bring lots of water and lets enjoy some of the best conditions you can get while photographing. 

Afternoon- Track thunderstorms and travel down Cottonwood Wash Road placing us in a good spot to chase north or south. 

Sunset- Photograph thunderstorms on the south side of the monument around Toadstools. 

Camp along Cottonwood Wash Road.

Sunrise- Photograph the canyons off Cottonwood Wash Road

Morning- Hackberry Canyon and Cottonwood Wash Narrows 

Afternoon- Move back towards the town of Escalante, do a post processing session and review of what we have photographed. 

Sunset- Monsoons and Hoodoo's Track thunderstorms and photograph from Head of the Rock Hoodoo's or Devils Garden.

Sunrise- Final Sunrise at Devils Garden

Morning- Post processing session where we edit the images from the trip. Bring a laptop that has both Photoshop and Lightroom. 

Lunch- Escalante Outfitters

Image Presentations- Everyone will have a chance to present their images. Final questions and farewell's. 

Travel back to St. George where we will drop you off where we picked you up.
