Online Workshop: How to Photograph a Total Solar Eclipse (TSE)
A total solar eclipse is one of the most unique sights a human can experience. Photographing one can be a lifetime highlight, or a nightmare, depending on how prepared you are. In this half-day online workshop, learn everything you need to create a stunning photo of a total solar eclipse. There are three TSEs coming up: in August 2026, August 2027, and July 2028. Don't be left out of experiencing these incredible events!
Details:
The workshop will cover necessary photography and safety gear, lenses and filters, preparation, best practices, the types of shots you can create, and camera settings. You will learn how to shoot the different phases of the eclipse: partial, Baily's Beads, the Diamond Ring, Prominences, and Totality (including the corona). The workshop will cover photographing the eclipse on its own, as well as part of the landscape with a "string of pearls" sequence. Half the workshop will be devoted to planning, learning how to use both PeakFinder and PhotoPills to align the eclipse with a subject for once-in-a-lifetime shots.
